Terms of use

Short, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

No money moves through us

Pay Up, Please is a record of work and what it was worth. It is not a payment processor, a bank, or an escrow service. Customers pay the kid however they already would: cash, or a payment app belonging to their parent. We never hold, transfer or touch money, and we take no cut.

That means we cannot recover an unpaid bill, reverse a payment, or settle a dispute about one. A bill in Pay Up, Please is a record that somebody said work was done and what it was worth.

Who can use it

Under 13: a parent or guardian must consent first, and the account is theirs to control. 13 to 17: an account is created with a parent’s involvement. 18 and over: you may hold a guardian account for a child, but the product is not for running your own business.

What a grown-up is agreeing to

That you are the parent or legal guardian of the child on the account, that you are responsible for what they do with it, and that the work they take on is safe and lawful where you live. We do not check jobs, vet customers, or supervise children.

Messages

Adding a customer’s phone number means confirming they agreed to be contacted. The messaging policy sets out what we send and how anybody stops it.

Fair use

Do not use Pay Up, Please to bill people who did not ask for work, to send anything abusive, or to pretend to be somebody else. We will close an account that does. A parent can close their own at any time and everything goes with it — see the privacy policy.

No warranty

The product is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for lost earnings, missed messages, or a disagreement between a kid and a customer.
